Fascinating story this about "The Protocols of the Elders of Zion" [*], an strange document, allegedly writen by a secret group of Jewish know as "Elders of Zion" where they explain how to achieve world domination.
It has been proved to be literally forged by Matvei Golovinski between 1895 and 1902. Parts of the text are literally taken from Maurice Joly work, "Dialogue aux enfers entre Machiavel et Montesquieu", where the author of the plan to rule the world is Napolen III. Joly, at his turn, could have taken parts of his work from the previous "The Mysteries of the People", by Eugène Sue, where the conspirators are the Jesuits.
The Protocols was used to influence tzar Nicholas II, to stop the reforms began by his precessor, Alexander II.
This story reminds me, and not only because of the word Zion, another fiarce forged with less dangerous aims, that we already spoke about, "The Priory of Zion" [*].
