The Story of Xavier C.

Xavier C was one amateur photographer (also journalist and draughtsmans) who went to the forest of Vallgorguina on July 21st, of 1986, to take photos. This forest is famous for the dolmen "Pedra Gentil" and for being a documented place of witches activity in the past.

He was making photos when he lost conscience of time. The next day he declared to have forgotten anything that happened within the 24 previous hours. In a session of hypnosis he claimed that he had been in a cave surrounded by strange beings.

But the fact that has kept this story alive (that otherwise would have been long ago forgotten), is the in the film that Xavier C. was carrying that day, two misterious photos were found.

They could be nothing, or they could be everything. It's up to you to decide.

Wem Town Ghost Identified

There are lots of pictures of (what is supossed to be) ghosts. But when you look carefully at them, almost all (if not all) are fakes (at very different levels of professionality, let's say).

But some of them, independently that we believe or not that what appears in them is a ghost, have something special, maybe weird, maybe it's just what the good photographs have.

This could be the case of the famous photo of the fire of Wem Town Hall (story here). Taken by Tony O'Rahilly on 19th November, 1995 when this building, at Shropshire, was totally destroyed.

Neither the author of any of the of the witnesses recall seeing anybody in the buildig in flames, and specially when the photo was taken.

But here it is, a girl whit a white dress (maybe the "Woman in white" of Wilkie Collins), staring at us with a severe look.

But in May of 2010, a postcard was published from the 1920s, that had been taken in Wem, Shropshire, by M. Audin-Wood. [telegraph.co.uk]

As you can notice, the girl that appears in the down left side of the postcard has a suspicious similarity with the girl standing on the threshold, surrounded by raging flames.

I have to confess that I am a big fan of the spanish mistery television show from channel Cuatro, Cuarto Milenio. This doesn't mean that I believe everything that appears in it, but the truth is that I am fascinated by these themes.

Lately they have spoke widely about te case of Carla Moran. It is story that I have always found really interesting; not so much by the fact itself, but more by everything that surrounded it... Let me explain myself: Carla Moran (also known as Doris Bither, her alleged real name), was a woman that lived in a town called Culther (not Malice), and that claimed that she was being raped by an entity/ghost/presence. She contacted the parapsicology team from the University of California, headed by doctors Barry Taff and Kerry Gaynor. And this is what I find more amazing, that it was a deeply documented case.

And probably this is the reason why it generated a book and a movie, The Entity [*] (of which the director of Ringu, Hideo Nakata, is preparing a remake [*]).

Keeping aside what we think of what appears in the photos (real, accident, fiarce...), the photos are fabulous themselves: everybody surrounding Carla Moran, her pose holding her head, the elipse of light over her... I don't know why, but it somehow reminds me the picture of the assassination of Lee Harvey Oswald.
