Does radical Islam have more support than we are being told?

We are recurrently being told that Islamist represent only a small fraction of the World's Muslim population. It's undeniable that if radical interpretation of Islam is not the most widespread yet, but there are some signals that can make us think that Islamist terrorism has more support than what they want us to believe.

Last week we witnessed in disbelief how Turkish fans attending the football match Turkey-Greece booed the minute of silence for the Paris attacks victims, some of them crying "Allahu Akbar".



We also know from analysis of tweets that a surprisingly high percentatge of tweets written in arabic in Europe support ISIS:

Of course, selecting tweets written in Arabic language means a bias in the study of the Muslim population of Europe, and these data can not used to characterize all this population, but it is still an horrofying indicator.

David Fernàndez: Tres tuits (i els tuits absents) per a la vergonya

Hi ha dies en que n'hi ha prou en veure el timeline de Twitter d'una persona per saber quína és la seva categoria moral. Tots i que des de les antípodes ideològiques, tenia un cert respecte per David Fernàndez de la CUP. Més enllà de la seva convergent-fòbia (especialment intensa en la seva Pujol-fòbia i Mas-fòbia), té l'encant dels que van per lliure, i el que (fins a les eleccions del 27S) es podia qualifar de certa coherència.

Però en vaig tenir prou amb veure el seu timeline de Twitter dissabte (després dels atemptats de Paris), per adonar-me que les seves fòbies estàn per sobre de l'ètica exigible a qualsevol persona.

Dissabte 14 de novembre, David Fernàndez només va fer tres tuits, que es caracterizen per:

- CAP CONDEMNA DELS ATEMPTATS.

- CAP RECORD PER LES VÍCTIMES.

- UN REPULSIU "I TÚ MÉS" AL CRISTIANISME.
