Shakira speaking in Catalan language in Barcelona

Wednesday Shakira performed in Barcelona, at the Palau Sant Jordi.

Not only did she perform a great show but she also showed a great level in Catalan language.

This was the intro speech to the show:

Or in the intro of the song "Inevitable":

We should remember that already back in 2006 she said that she had "sang catalan" (catalan blood) - her grandmother was catalan, and her second family name is "Ripoll"-:

Early before that day, she attended a press conference where, asked if she would like to sing someday in Catalan language, she answered that she did, and declared that she would like to make a cover of "Boig per tú":

Shakira Comes Back

Finally we have Shakira's latest work (at least the spanish version), called "La Loba".

Personally, I have to admit that I am not a fan of this song, but one has to agree that she is not afraid of trying new things. She could just produce more latin anthems for the mass media, but she gives us something totally different, a pure eighties production. It sounds more Talking Heads than what we would expect from her.

In reality this is not so surprising, if we think of "Pure intuition" ("Las de la intuición"), which already was totally an eighties song (even the music video was).

Even the end of the song seems a tribute to the Neverending Story's song:
